Hummus (oil and salt-free)

One of my favorite things to eat as a snack is hummus with some carrots, but I always find the ones at the store either too salty, too garlicky or too oily, so I started to make my own. It’s even cheaper, so if you find yourself in the same situation and you don’t wanna give up hummus, or you simply would like to save up on groceries, this recipe is perfect for you!

Ingredients

Makes about a cup of hummus

  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed well
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbs lemon juice
  • 3-4 tbsp water (3 for a thick consistency)

Instructions

Add the chickpeas and all the spices to a blender.

Blend for a few seconds, then add the rest of the ingredients and blend again until the desired consistency, it should be creamy.

And there you have it, fresh hummus ready to eat!


NB: store in the fridge up to a week.
